Colombia Geisha by Jhon Samboni: A jewel from Huila
Introducing a true Colombian gem — a Geisha (Gesha) coffee known worldwide for its exceptional quality and refined, delicate profile. This lot is processed to highlight its natural fruit sweetness along with the bright floral and fruity notes that define this celebrated variety.
Jhon Samboni: A farmer with a microphone
This coffee comes from Finca Santa Barbara in the renowned Huila region. The farm was purchased in 2019 by grower and producer Jhon Samboni, a man with a clear vision: pursue maximum bean quality through unique and carefully controlled processing.
When he’s not cultivating outstanding coffee, Jhon follows his other passion — he runs a live YouTube channel where he sings traditional Colombian Vallenato and Norteño music to his fans.

A unique variety with double fermentation
Geisha (Gesha) originates from Ethiopia — allegedly named after the Gori Gesha forest — and flourishes at high altitudes where it develops its iconic aromatic complexity. Jhon chose a Semi-Washed process with double fermentation, designed to sharpen and elevate the coffee’s distinct character:
- First fermentation: Hand-harvested cherries ferment for 100 hours in blue tanks.
- Second fermentation: After pulping, the beans undergo an additional 30-hour anaerobic fermentation in sealed tanks.
This meticulous, time-intensive method prepares the beans for slow drying on marquesinas (roof-top parabolic dryers) for 10–15 days, ensuring even and gentle drying.
Huila: The heart of Colombian coffee
Huila is among Colombia’s most iconic coffee regions. It is home to the Colombian Massif (Nudo de Almaguer) — a mountain system that supplies up to 70% of the country’s drinking and agricultural water.
Rich volcanic soil and ample water from the Magdalena River create ideal conditions for premium coffee varieties like this Geisha, which grows here alongside avocado, oranges and sugarcane.
