This 100% Arabica coffee comes from Brazil and undergoes a 100% natural and chemical-free decaffeination process using pressurized carbon dioxide. Unlike traditional decaf methods, this technique keeps the original aroma and taste intact while removing nearly all caffeine content.

☕ How does CO₂ decaffeination work?

1. Preparation: Green coffee beans are soaked in water to swell and open their pores.

2. Extraction with CO₂: The beans are then placed in a high-pressure chamber, where CO₂ is transformed into its supercritical state—a phase between liquid and gas. In this state, CO₂ binds with caffeine molecules inside the beans and extracts them.

3. Separation: The caffeine-laden CO₂ is transferred to another chamber, where the pressure is reduced. Caffeine separates from the CO₂, which is then reused.

4. Preservation of flavor: The beans, now free of caffeine, retain their original aromatic and taste compounds.

5. Final processing: The decaf beans are dried, packed, and roasted fresh at our BotaCoffee roastery – and ready for you to enjoy.
